However, few consider the effects fast fashion has on both humanity and the environment. Fast fashion is the mass production of clothing that is unsustainable in order to keep up with trends. This industry is known to be a cause of toxic and abusive workplaces and contributes to a major percentage of waste in landfills and our oceans. Ari has always had an interest in educating people about fashion and its effects on society and the environment. With the help of her friends, Bides has organized The Flee Fast Fashion Market, a market that advocates the sale of secondhand and sustainable clothing along with supporting local businesses in Vallejo. At this market, she was able raise a little over $1,000 to donate to Fashion Revolution and inspire hundreds in her community to join her on the journey to sustainability through clothing….
