Finding our identity is never a linear path. Today, there is a lot of pressure to be
someone who you’re not and various societal factors leave many to develop an identity crisis.
For the case of Alex, a Korean American, he has always been split between two worlds, the
U.S. and South Korea. Growing up, he never found a place in between; he either felt too Korean
or too American. However, this all changes for the better after he learns of his Dad’s immigration
story. In his talk, Alex takes you on a journey of how he found courage to discover his true
identity.
Alexander Lho is a student at St. John’s Preparatory School in Danvers, MA. He is a member of
his school’s Student Wellness Advisory Council and MACD (Multicultural Affairs and Community
Development) Student Advisory Council. His passion exists in community health and the field of
science, specifically biology and chemistry as he hopes to one day become an influential
