What Open Rate Your Cold Emails Should Get

Open rate’s aren’t as important as most people think it to be, because you can have someone who has an 80% open rate, but their cold emails aren’t getting replied to.

Or you could have someone that has a 20% open rate and their cold emails are getting replied to and they’re booking meetings. So I’d say open rate really doesn’t matter that much, but if you’re looking for like KPIs or open rate targets to kind of hit, I would say about 50% plus would be a good range.

The industry average for most people is about 20%, because a lot of people don’t know how to cold email properly. But if you’re above 50% and you’re getting into the 60, 70% open rate, then I would say that’s like a sweet spot.
