Two simple tricks to improve email open rates



Today I want to quickly run through two simple tricks you can use to improve email open rates and get more eyeballs on your messages.

The first method is to use the word “THIS” in your email subject lines.

Some very basic examples are:

Have your sales team mastered this, [NAME]?

Don’t contact another prospect until you have done THIS.

Were you aware of this, [NAME]?

The point here is when these types of subject lines are written well, they generate curiosity… as the reader wants to find out what “this” is.

They don’t want to feel like they are missing out on something.

The other method is sending the same email a second time, but with a different subject line.

This sounds obvious, but from experience not many sales or marketing professionals do it.

The question is if it is ethical or not. I say it is.
